Stonewood, Inc., is located in Historical Lexington, Virginia – home of Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute and the Virginia Horse Center. Located in the Shenandoah Valley, it’s beautiful scenery and relaxed lifestyle has made it one of the premier locations for living on the East Coast.

Stonewood has been building homes and managing projects large and small in Rockbridge County since its inception in 1985.  With an honest delivery of a quality product as our goal we have created quite a track record in the Lexington area.

Providing quality custom work is of the utmost importance. Craftsmanship is stressed in every phase of the construction process. Because of the attention to detail: the substantial subfloors, the rigid sheeting and the excellent carpentry, we get very few callbacks and many referrals from clients. We have a firm belief in building something correctly, rather that having the homeowner repair or replace it a few years down the line. If we feel that a higher quality of material or extra framing is required to meet our standards, we bid it that way and build it that way.

Although we primarily build new custom homes or restore 100-200 year old homes, we have tackled many other projects. Since 1985 we have done porches, decks, kitchen renovations, gazebos, fences, barns, commercial buildings and even a dam. Stonewood employs it’s own crew as well as having a good working relationship with a dependable group of subcontractors.

Our clients have come to expect us to be able to overcome any design or engineering problems, either in co-operation with their architect or through our own design and drawing. The customer ultimately determines the end result.
